China Mobile is the largest telecommunications company in China and one of the largest globally. As of June 30, 2024, China Mobile had a total of 1.0 billion mobile customers and 309 million wireline broadband customers.
With the rapid advancement of emerging technologies such as 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), network coverage and capacity requirements are continuously increasing. To meet these growing needs, China Mobile is building new base stations and upgrading existing ones.
The power system of these base stations is crucial for ensuring continuous operation and protecting sensitive equipment from power fluctuations, surges, or outages. Therefore, selecting the right batteries for both new and existing base stations is essential for China Mobile.
China Mobile conducted a public bidding process to find a suitable battery supplier. Following a strict selection process, the chosen supplier successfully won the bid and has since established a strong partnership with China Mobile. To date, the supplier has provided 100,000 CL 2V Series batteries and 60,000 Long-Life FM Series batteries. These batteries are used in the power systems of newly constructed base stations and for replacing old batteries in existing base stations.
