On June 3, 2026, HiTHIUM — a globally recognized leader in energy storage solutions and services — made a significant breakthrough at SNEC 2026 by presenting the world’s first native 8-hour long-duration energy storage (LDES) solution: the ∞Power 6.9MWh energy storage system (ESS). The company also took the wraps off its new ∞Cell 650Ah large-capacity battery alongside the ∞Power 10+MWh product solution.
As renewable energy installations accelerate worldwide, storage durations are shifting rapidly from the traditional 2–3 hours toward 4–8 hours. LDES is becoming increasingly critical for renewable integration, grid flexibility and resilience, as well as the safe, stable operation of modern power systems. In response to rising demand for cost efficiency, safety, reliability and large-scale delivery in the LDES era, HiTHIUM has built a complete technological ecosystem that ranges from purpose-built battery cells to integrated ESS platforms — driven by its core strengths in cost leadership, service excellence, and robust safety standards.
During the exhibition, HiTHIUM’s technical team delivered in-depth presentations on LDES trends and product innovation. In a keynote titled “Long-Duration Powering, Green Energy Enduring: Ultra-Long-Duration Energy Storage System Solutions and New Product Debut”, Ye Zi, Product Director at HiTHIUM, highlighted that with rising renewable penetration, more frequent extreme weather events, a deepening “duck curve,” and mounting grid stability pressures, LDES is quickly emerging as a new infrastructure pillar for power system security.
To tackle critical industry challenges, HiTHIUM introduced the ∞Power 6.9MWh 8-hour LDES system. At its core lies the world’s first 1300Ah battery cell dedicated purely to LDES applications. This cell-level native design allows the system to achieve over 6.9MWh capacity and stable 8-hour output within a standard 20-foot container. Engineered for up to 25 years of operational life, the system supports both side-by-side and back-to-back configurations, effectively reducing project land usage and construction costs. Environmental innovations include low-GWP coolant, leakage-prevention design, and recyclable structural components. Safety is ensured by a multi-layer protection architecture covering intrinsic cell safety, active and passive container-level protection, plus intelligent BMS management.
Another showstopper was the debut of HiTHIUM’s ∞Cell 650Ah large-capacity energy storage battery and the ∞Power 10+MWh product solution. Leveraging robust R&D capabilities across both battery cells and ESS solutions, HiTHIUM continuously upgrades its portfolio with a customer-centric philosophy. The new products enrich the company’s large-capacity battery and system lineup, improving overall project returns through higher energy density and greater system integration efficiency, while offering more application options for diverse scenarios — strengthening HiTHIUM’s global competitiveness.
Beyond these highlights, HiTHIUM presented a full-scenario portfolio including the ∞Cell 1300Ah, 1175Ah, and 587Ah battery cells; the ∞Power 6.25MWh 2–4h ESS; the ∞Cell N162Ah and ∞Power N2.28MWh 1h sodium-ion ESS; ∞Block 261kWh and 418kWh commercial & industrial cabinets; plus residential products such as HeroEE MaxPower 8 AIO and HeroEE16.
During SNEC 2026, HiTHIUM signed a three-year, 1GWh strategic cooperation agreement with DSS Solar targeting Vietnam’s residential, commercial, and industrial energy storage markets. The partnership combines HiTHIUM’s advanced product solutions, manufacturing excellence and supply chain capabilities with DSS Solar’s local channels and project development services, aiming to accelerate scaled deployment across Vietnam and support the regional energy transition and green development.
Built upon a dual-technology roadmap integrating lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, HiTHIUM has established a complete product matrix covering 1- to 8-hour applications. Looking ahead, the company will continue to prioritize LDES as a strategic focus, driving innovation and global expansion to accelerate large-scale deployment and actively support the worldwide green energy transition.
