On September 9, 2024, REPT BATTERO marked a significant milestone with the official opening of its U.S. subsidiary in Irvine, California. Coinciding with this event, REPT BATTERO participated in the 2024 American International Photovoltaic Energy Storage Exhibition, RE+, where it launched the Wending 564Ah battery cell tailored for overseas markets and the Powtrix energy storage system. These innovations are set to offer safer and more efficient solutions to support the global transition to green energy.

 

Wending 564Ah Battery Cell: Performance Upgrade for Extended Energy Storage

The Wending 564Ah battery cell is specifically developed for energy storage needs exceeding four hours. Utilizing REPT BATTERO’s pioneering "asking top" technology and double high electrodes, the 564Ah cell delivers high energy efficiency, exceptional consistency, zero degradation, and extended life.

Leveraging the innovative "asking top" design, the 564Ah battery minimizes tab redundancy by refining the tab bending method, reducing DC internal resistance by 16%, and achieving an energy efficiency of 96.4%. The internal space utilization is increased by approximately 5%, enhancing both energy density and safety. Additionally, the battery cell employs double high solid-liquid interface technology, boosting ion migration rate by 30%. A new surface process has overcome mass production challenges associated with lithium replenishment, implementing high-efficiency lithium technology to reduce lithium ion loss during the initial charge, thus improving overall battery efficiency and energy density.

Designed for long-term energy storage exceeding four hours, the Wending 564Ah cell boasts an ultra-long cycle life of over 10,000 cycles and a calendar life of 25-30 years. It addresses common issues associated with large-capacity batteries, such as thermal runaway and overcharging, offering users a safe, reliable, and efficient experience.

 

Powtrix Energy Storage System: Enhanced Safety and Value

The Powtrix energy storage system stands out for its reliability and durability, featuring IP55+C5 protection and anti-corrosion grade, which effectively shields it from dust, water splashes, humid environments, wind, sand, and salt spray. All internal components undergo long-term high-temperature aging tests at 60°C, ensuring superior weather resistance and performance. The system’s active balancing technology improves balancing capability by 20 times compared to passive balancing, achieves 150 times greater energy savings, and reduces operation and maintenance costs by 80% per cluster.

In terms of safety, the Powtrix system integrates comprehensive protection features, including thermal and electrical separation, short-circuit arc flash protection, external short-circuit detection, and battery valve opening detection. It excels in thermal safety, as demonstrated by its superior performance in the UL 9540A comprehensive test evaluation. A two-tier firefighting strategy at the module and system levels helps suppress fires in their early stages, minimizing the risk of heat spread and fire.

Compared to traditional 5MWh energy storage systems, the Powtrix system offers a 20% increase in energy density, a 16.6% reduction in footprint, and a 15.7% investment saving. Meeting stringent safety standards such as NEC, NPFA68/69/70, NFPA855, and IEEE693, the 6MWh Powtrix system has proven its effectiveness in large-scale fire assessments, keeping forced fire ranges within expected limits.

The Powtrix products are designed to align with the technical characteristics of mainstream PCS equipment and the layout requirements of overseas customers. The output interface supports both bottom and end outlet configurations, accommodating various PCS wiring methods and architectures. This versatility ensures that the system is grid-friendly, system-compatible, and battery-compatible, fully meeting the needs of international customers.

Beyond the current offerings in the Powtrix product line, REPT BATTERO is set to launch a flagship version. Based on the mass-produced 300Ah+ series battery cells, this version will use the same chemical system design with slight adjustments in size to achieve a full capacity of 6.25MWh. Utilizing the mature process route and reliable system integration of the 300Ah+ series, this flagship product will lead the 6MWh family lineup, providing a stable and efficient solution for customers.
