Sungrow PowerTitan 2.0 Awarded for Innovation at Solar & Storage Live 2024

Birmingham, UK, September 26th, 2024 — Sungrow, a leading global provider of PV inverters and energy storage systems, is thrilled to announce that its PowerTitan 2.0 energy storage system has won the Storage Product Innovation Award at the Solar & Storage Live Awards 2024. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday, September 24th, during the Solar & Storage Live UK 2024 exhibition in Birmingham, a key event for recognizing advancements in renewable energy and storage technology.

The PowerTitan 2.0 stands out for its cutting-edge integration of Sungrow’s expertise in power electronics, electrochemistry, and grid support technologies. Its innovative design offers a highly efficient and exceptionally safe energy storage solution. Sungrow recognizes the importance of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) in stabilizing the grid, enhancing the use of renewable energy, and advancing the global energy transition. To meet these demands, the PowerTitan 2.0 was developed as a state-of-the-art Liquid-Cooled ESS for utility-scale projects. It features a fully liquid-cooled system and an integrated Power Conversion System (PCS) within a compact 20-foot, 5MWh container. Its modular design allows for scalable 10MWh systems, addressing the typical challenges of scalability and efficiency while optimizing both CAPEX and OPEX.

Sungrow’s PowerTitan 2.0 has already begun making waves in Europe, with the first units delivered to Penso Power’s 100MW/330MWh energy storage project in Bramley, in partnership with BW ESS. Several other contracts have also been secured, including a significant 230MWh energy storage project in Germany by Nofar Energy. These projects demonstrate the increasing demand for advanced energy storage systems that maximize efficiency while minimizing operational costs.
